Health & Dental Benefits

All international graduate students automatically opt-in and are charged for the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) offered by Sun Life Financial. UHIP is mandatory for all international non-residents studying or working at Trent. Trent International provides information about UHIP here. For any questions about your coverage, submitting a claim, or the reimbursement process, please use this link to contact UHIP directly.

In addition to UHIP, international graduate students are also automatically enrolled in the Health & Dental Plan offered through the Trent Central Student Association (TCSA) and administered by StudentVIP. If a student has pre-existing coverage there is an option to opt-out of the Health & Dental Plan during the first month of each semester (January, May, September). At this time, students also have the option to opt-in family members to their Health & Dental Plan for an additional fee. More information about this process can be found here.
