Innovation Services

Graduate students at Trent have access to world-class innovation and analytical services that attract community and industrial partners. Trent is home of the Water Quality Centre (WQC), the premier mass spectrometry facility in North America, and the Natural Resources DNA Profiling and Forensic Centre (NRDPFC), an automated molecular biology laboratory. Graduate students are afforded the opportunity to receive hands-on training and experience using these analytical services directly from leading experts in the field.

Graduate students are also encouraged to apply their knowledge and skills to generate impact beyond the walls of Trent through commercialization and entrepreneurship. Trent offers the FastStart program to educate students about entrepreneurship as a career path, and collaborates with the Innovation Cluster to support student entrepreneurs as they kick-start their career.
