Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs)
All graduate students enrolled in thesis-based programs at Trent are offered a Graduate Teaching Assistanceship as part of their funding package for the duration of their studies*. GTAs are a critical component in teaching and learning at Trent, working in the fall (September-December) and winter (January-April) semesters to deliver course material in their assigned departments. If you have questions about your role as a GTA you may contact the assigned department where you will be working. If you would like to learn how to enhance your skills as a GTA you can reach out to the Centre for Teaching and Learning at [email protected].
*Note: A GTA position is only guaranteed for the duration of a program. For example, a student is a 2-year MA will be offered four (4) GTA semesters; two (2) in the fall and two (2) in the winter semesters. The GTA position is not guaranteed should the student go overtime in their studies.
