Registering for Courses
During your time at Trent, you will be required to enroll in courses. If you are in a research-thesis program this extends beyond traditional courses, as you will be required to enroll yourself as a student in your research program for each semester. Important dates surrounding registration deadline can be found in the Graduate Academic Calendar.
You will plan your academic journey and register for courses through your myTrent account by follow: Register > Courses > Planning and Registering (Graduate). This will bring you to the Trent University Colleague Self-Service Portal where you have access to the course catalog, student planning & registration, student finances, tax information, and more. Begin by selecting Course Catalog to view the courses available to you for the academic year. Ensure you select the term detailed to as “Grad”. From there you can add courses you are interested in registering for, including general research-thesis course registration. Adding a course does not mean you are registered. To register for the courses you have selected you must return to the Home page of the Trent University Colleague Self-Service Portal and follow: Student Planning & Registration > Plan, Schedule & Register. Here you will see a timetable of the courses you have added for each upcoming semester. To register for your added courses you will need to select the Register Now button above the timetable. You will then receive an email to your student email account confirming you have successfully registered for your added courses.
